Patna Ke Rang

A Patna street painting. By my old school-friend Anunaya Chaubey. I like the recognizable aspects of the chai-wala’s face and figure. And the pink gamcchha. The peeling blue wall. The brightness of the yellow that is of course also smirched. There is a fine surprise here too. The ring-marks all over the painting as if made by the endless cups of tea drunk by the man’s customers.

  1. I still like the taste of over-boiled or rather cooked tea of nukkad side CHAIWALAH. The aftertaste of Chai and coffee
belched out by a coffee machine is terrible.
    WELL DONE Anunaya !!!

  2. Rather nice, the choice of colours. And this could be in a lot of other places besides Patna. (The colour of the gamcha would change, perhaps).
    Really nice
