I missed the wedding this evening–only an hour ago–that I was to attend at St Andrew’s Church. So I’m at a cybercafe on Pali Road, champagne bottle wrapped in silver, waiting for the reception to start at Bandra Gymkhana. My friend Naresh Fernandes’ brother Prakash is the groom. Congratulations, Prakash and Joanna! I’m somewhere close by. I just couldn’t find the church. I did see several dark buildings festooned with light but none of them seemed to be a house of God. What to do. Anyway, the news from Mumbai is that the Shiv Sena has split, dance bars are closed, violence against women continues, and I have begun reading more blogs.
